Poverty Alleviation and Inclusive Development Across Rural Sindh (PAIDAR)

Poverty alleviation and inclusive development across rural Sindh (PAIDAR) is a five-year programme funded by the EU to support the Government of Sindh (GoS) in implementation of its Poverty Reduction Strategy (PRS) across 5 target districts of Thatta, Sujawal, Badin, Tharparkar and Larkana.

The PAIDAR Programme aims at:

Providing EUR 20 million of co-financing grants and technical assistance to 1,600 MSMEs and cooperatives.
Contributing technically and financially (EUR 2 million) to building and upgrading public infrastructure for improvement in basic service delivery in 5 Rural Growth Centres (secondary towns).
Investing EUR 8 million to directly establish climate resilient community infrastructure and to create access to social services in more than 170 villages within 15 km radius of Rural Growth Centres.
Assisting the GoS to strengthen internal coordination and monitoring, and to optimize provincial public resources allocation towards meeting PRS objectives.

The long-term objective of PAIDAR is to contribute to sustainable poverty reduction and the improvement of livelihoods of disadvantaged women, men and young people across Sindh province.
