We were honored to host distinguished guests from the European Commission: Ms. Audret Maillot, Head of Sector for South Asia, and Ms. Laura Vitullo, International Cooperation Officer for South and South-East Asia. Their visit presented an opportunity to discuss some initiatives under our shared mission to combat multi-dimensional poverty in Sindh’s pilot districts. During the visit, we showcased our ambitious projects to transform rural communities. These initiatives, such as Village Settlement Planning, are designed to enhance the quality of life in these areas. One of the highlights of our discussion was the introduction of Clean, Carbon-Efficient Good Bricks, a groundbreaking approach to sustainable housing that promises to revolutionize local construction practices. This mission was further strengthened by the presence of key EU representatives in Pakistan including Mr. Jeroen Willems, Head of Cooperation for the European Union (EU) in Pakistan, and Mr. Carlo de Rosa, Development Advisor for the EU Delegation in Pakistan, for their invaluable support and insights. The briefing was led by Mr. Steffen Kaeser, Programme Manager for PAIDAR, Mr. Nima Bahramalian, Industrial Development Expert for PAIDAR, and Mr. Badar ul Islam, National Programme Coordinator. The visit from the European Commission has invigorated our resolve to continue this vital work and make a lasting impact on the lives of those we serve. Together, we are committed to building a better future for the rural communities in Sindh.
